Programmatic Symphony: At the heart of our design lies a meticulously crafted programmatic diagram. Residential units of varying sizes, thoughtfully integrated commercial spaces, a welcoming double-height lobby, and a vibrant public plaza come together in perfect harmony. This dynamic mix of programs caters to a diverse range of needs, promoting convenience, social interaction, and an elevated quality of life for all who utilize the space.

Preserving the Past, Embracing the Future: We honor the history of the site by preserving the original retaining wall. This feature stands in dialogue with our modern building, creating a sense of continuity and respect for what came before.
In our proposed building design, we celebrate the retaining wall’s unique character and history. While the structure remains independent from the building, it serves as a reminder of the area’s rich heritage. The coexistence of the old and the new creates a harmonious blend, showcasing the balance between preservation and innovation. -
Inspired by Nature: Mirroring the Flow of the Landscape: The building’s distinctive roofscape draws inspiration from San Francisco’s rolling hills. These dynamic slopes blur the lines between architecture and nature. They also serve the practical purpose of visually identifying different programmatic zones within the building.
Roofscapes Mimicking the San Francisco’s Hilly Landscape! 🌄✨ The proposed building design roofscapes gracefully mimic the slopes of the surrounding mountains. These dynamic roof slopes not only serve as striking architectural elements but also play a vital role in identifying different volumes and programs within the building.
As you stroll along the street, you will notice effortlessly blend into the natural beauty of the landscape, harmonizing the built environment with its surroundings and offering a serene connection to nature. -
Where Light Meets Architecture: Abundant natural light is a guiding principle within our design. Large roof openings invite the outdoors in, creating a sense of expansiveness and connection to the breathtaking vistas. Interior spaces are bathed in sunlight, reducing reliance on artificial lighting and fostering a sense of well-being. Additionally, strategically integrated planter beds soften interior spaces and provide a visual transition to the lush green spaces surrounding the building.
Large Roof Openings For Boundless Views and Radiant Warmth! 🌿✨ Our design philosophy embraces large roof openings, effortlessly inviting the site to invade the building’s space. These expansive apertures offer unobstructed views, allowing nature’s magnificence to flood the interiors with a mesmerizing play of light and shadows.
But that’s not all! We’ve gone a step further to enhance the ambiance. The balcony railings have been meticulously detailed with planter beds, transforming them into vibrant pockets of greenery. This ingenious touch not only promotes a warmer environment but also seamlessly blends the boundaries between indoor and outdoor spaces. -
Sustainable by Design: Our commitment to sustainability is evident in the building’s thoughtful footprint. Less than 40% of the lot is covered by the structure, allowing the natural landscape to flourish and minimizing our impact on the environment. Additional sustainable features include rainwater harvesting, solar panel integration, high-efficiency building systems, etc.
Vanishing Boundaries: A Cohesive Symphony of Building and Landscape Unveiled! 🌿✨ Over time, our building evolves, becoming enveloped by the abundant vegetation that thrives in the area. The vision is for nature to overflow and invade the roofscape, blurring the boundaries between the built environment and the natural landscape.
This intentional design approach creates cohesiveness, where the building and the surrounding landscape seamlessly intertwine. The verdant tendrils that embrace the rooftop not only enhance the aesthetic appeal but also establish a profound connection to the environment, fostering a sense of tranquility and unity. -
Accessibility and Circulation: Navigating with Ease: Careful consideration has been given to movement throughout the site. A dedicated drive path with ample parking provides residents with direct garage access. Wide pedestrian walkways and thoughtfully placed public access points ensure an inviting and inclusive experience. Additionally, the visually distinct roof slopes, varying in height and angle, aid in wayfinding throughout the development.
Navigating Seamlessly: Circulation and Accessibility Redefined! 🚗🚶♀️✨ The drive path spans the length of the building, providing residents with direct access to 2-span garages. A dedicated row allows public access, promoting a harmonious community atmosphere.
We’ve also implemented an innovative design feature: the roof slopes facing the street. These slopes create a distinctive visual identity for different sections of the building while aiding in wayfinding.
